I gave As A Child 3 starts only because I think the author should have developed the story more. I mean its a true story but I wanted to know more. I wanted to why the mother was the way she was,we did get a some information but I felt there was more to the story. The mom allowed the girlfriend,yes she was gay, to molest the sister and the sister seemed to enjoy it. The mother also dressed the son up in girl clothes and put lipstick on him. I don't know, I think it was a good read but like I said I wanted more,I do think that this could have been a 5 star book if the story would have been brought together little better. As the reader we know the details but it's makes for a better book if the story is weaved just like a spider weaves his web. To the author, I definitely enjoyed your book and I'm open to read more from you.Still~

This book was so good I could not stop reading..It takes alot of courage to tell a story like this so many kids go through through same things and are scared to speak out!! Awesome job!! Really brought tears to my eyes and made me reminisce on some things of my past!!

The author painted very vivid pictures of the settings and environment the activities took place. It was so vivid and detailed, that I could visualize people, places, and things and place myself on the outside looking in. While I know that this book is therapeutic for the author; it is also a guide and warning for those in similar situations and a reference for hope for a normal life and future with another family. You are in the middle of a journey that will have far-reaching results for you. Staying strong and open to love from those around you while in the middle of adversity is an underlying message here. I got the message!
I read this book as a class assignment. I was so into this book, I didnt put it down. I read it straight through. I think there should be a second part to the book. I would have liked to have known how things are with he and his family now. God is always with you Christopher and try not to dwell on the shoulda, woulda, coulda's....which you have probaly heard before. All happen for reason! Your story "testimony" may touch someone who thinks they are untouchable! Continue to have strength!
